Initial consultation at the fertility centre

Expertise, experience, humanity

Fertility treatments for almost 20 years

Dr Satari began treating unintentionally childless couples in 2005. Since 2008, he and his team have been treating patients holistically at the Trier Fertility Centre on Petrisberg according to the latest scientific standards. The team will guide you sensitively through the process of diagnosis and fertility treatment in a pleasant atmosphere.
After a detailed consultation, every treatment is based on targeted diagnostics. This is the basis for choosing the most promising fertility treatment method for your individual case. We take time for your questions and concerns about the treatment to fulfil your desire to have children.

Our services

Diagnostics, management, social freezing

The team at the Trier Fertility Center comprises experienced gynecologists and obstetricians specializing in gynecological endocrinology and reproductive medicine, as well as biologists. Together with cooperating partners in human genetics, andrology and anesthesia, they offer a full range of services.

Treatment planning starts with a personalized diagnosic workup. The aim is to find the best fertility treatment protocol for you. Diagnostics includes a detailed medical history, laboratory studies and sperm quality analysis as well as imaging studies, if indicated.

Request

With the help of hormone therapy, we can treat common disorders of egg maturation and lack of ovulation. These are among the most common causes of pregnancy failure. The therapy is carried out with tablets or (self-injected) injections. Ovarian stimulation is also used to retrieve eggs for artificial fertilisation using IVF or ICSI.

Request

In intrauterine insemination, sperm is introduced into the uterus to bring it closer to the egg. For example, this procedure is employed when sperm quality is impaired or in case of donor insemination for lesbian couples and single women. The sperm from the semen sample that has been prepped in the lab is deposited directly into the uterine cavity via a thin tube. Insemination may be performed during the natural cycle or following ovarian stimulation.

Request

Artificial fertilization outside the female body includes modalities such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The required eggs are usually harvested after ovarian stimulation, and the sperm sample is obtained by masturbation. Two to five days after successful fertilization, the embryos are transferred into the uterus.

Request

If you want to postpone your family planning until later, you can have your eggs cryopreserved (social freezing). There may also be medical reasons for cryopreservation, e.g. chemotherapy, radiotherapy and the administration of teratogenic medications. In such cases, statutory health insurance providers often cover the cost. Moreover, extra eggs can be cryopreserved as part of fertility treatment, avoiding the need for repeated stimulation and harvesting.

High pregnancy rates

Fertility Centre Trier

We achieve very high pregnancy rates of 41% per embryo transfer carried out. However, how good your individual chances of a successful pregnancy are depends on many different factors, including the causes of involuntary childlessness, age, hormonal situation and the number of unsuccessful treatment attempts to date.

That is why we advise every patient and every couple at our centre personally and individually about their options and chances. You can use our online booking system to conveniently make an appointment for a medical consultation.

Multidisciplinary treatment

Holistic diagnostics & therapy

@Adobe Stock / Petair

There are many reasons why the longed-for pregnancy does not materialise. The most common causes of an unfulfilled desire to have children include hormonal disorders, abnormalities of the female reproductive organs or fertility disorders in men. Factors such as alcohol consumption or smoking can also have a negative impact on your fertility.
Generally speaking, it can be said that 30% of the causes lie with the woman, the man or both. In around 10% of cases, we are not (yet) able to recognise the cause with our diagnostic tools. A holistic diagnosis is important for targeted treatment. This is why the doctors of gynaecology, reproductive medicine and gynaecological endocrinology at our clinic work together with andrologists and biologists on an interdisciplinary basis.

High satisfaction

Voices of patients and couples

At six locations in Germany, we work every day to fulfil people's desire to have children. Here, happy parents talk about their fertility treatment. Find out more here.

‘Our pregnancy was diagnosed two weeks after the first ICSI transfer in Bad Münder. We are totally happy, enjoying the pregnancy (with everything that goes with it...) and are really looking forward to our offspring...’

‘Our findings were initially a mystery - ‘idiopathic’ infertility, i.e. without any recognisable cause... and in the end our daughter was born eleven days after ET.’

‘Our little miracle is now almost 3 years old. We are currently (2024) back with Dr Kundu, because we don't want our son to remain an only child.’

‘Dr Mebes gave me great support throughout the whole time... I am glad that I dared to become a mother on my own not only once, but also a second time.’

‘We felt comfortable in the practice from start to finish. All the doctors and medical assistants were super kind, patient and empathetic.’

Frequently asked questions & answers about fertility treatment

When should I contact a fertility centre?

We recommend contacting a clinic if you have not become pregnant after 12 months of regular intercourse during your fertile days. For women aged 35 and over, this recommendation applies after 6 months due to declining fertility. You can find out more about the fertile days in the female cycle here. You can easily make an appointment at our centre online.

What does treatment at the Trier Fertility Clinic cost?

The cost of treatment in individual cases depends, among other things, on whether the costs are covered by health insurance, the type of treatment and the number of treatment cycles. Hormone treatment is usually fully covered by health insurance. For artificial insemination, married, heterosexual couples within defined age limits (women before the age of 40 and men before the age of 50) can receive up to 50% subsidies.

An insemination at the fertility clinic in Trier costs around €300, an insemination with stimulation treatment costs €1,000. A treatment cycle with IVF costs around €3,000 and ICSI €4,000. The costs may vary in individual cases. The costs are comparable for all centres in the amedes group. You can find more information about costs and cost coverage here.

How long does fertility treatment at the clinic in Trier take?

A treatment cycle at the fertility centre with in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) takes around 4-6 weeks, provided no cost clarifications are outstanding and no special diagnostics are required. We will always provide you with a detailed appointment and treatment plan so that you can plan everything properly.

Can single women and lesbian couples also be treated at the Trier Fertility Centre?

Yes, we treat couples and women regardless of whether they are married or in a registered civil partnership. We offer lesbian couples and prospective ‘solo mothers’ the option of donor sperm treatment to fulfil their desire to have children, including comprehensive information on the special features involved. You can find basic information about donor sperm treatment here.

Is fertility treatment possible for women over the age of 40?

In principle, it is still possible to fulfil your desire to have children after the age of 40, depending on your individual circumstances, but unfortunately the chances of success decrease as a woman gets older and treatment is no longer covered by health insurance after the age of 40. Please arrange a consultation with us and we will provide you with comprehensive information about the options and risks.
